Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
With this unique method, each step of every lesson is shown as a separate layer.

With this unique method, each step of every lesson is shown as a separate layer, making it amazingly easy to create beautiful acrylic paintings! With helpful hints on tools and materials and demonstrations of painting techniques, Acrylic Painting Layer by Layer demystifies this diverse medium for artists of every skill level. In this innovative method of step-by-step instruction, each stage of every project is accompanied by an isolated view of the painting that shows only the colors applied in that step. By focusing on each layer of paint individually, artists can instantly see what actions to take in each step of the painting.

Packed full of beautiful acrylic landscapes and still lifes, this 128-page hardcover book is at home in the reference library or on the coffee table.

3 out of 5 stars Good News and Bad News   June 1, 2007
12 out of 12 found this review helpful

The good news is that pages 6 through 49 are full of helpful and important information on using acrylic paint. The bad news is that pages 52 through 126 have poorly written instructions on the layer by layer process. The word "carefully" is used at least a dozen times in this book, and being told to paint carefully is not helpful. More specific instructions are needed such as what type of brush stroke to use.
