5 out of 5 stars Anyone interested in color combinations should have this   July 24, 2007
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

I bought this book for information on color combinations for beading and jewelry making. I have found that I keep picking it up and reading and re-reading sections, the book is very inspirational. I also feel this book is valuable in other areas in which I use color, for instance stained glass and painting. Don't just consider this for beading, consider it if you are an interior decorator or if in your hobby or work color is important, I believe this book will be a go to book for years to come. It has been a long time since I have found a reference book that was so useful. You won't be sorry you bought it if you have a passion for color but feel you need a little help in combining colors or even choosing a main color for a particular effect.

5 out of 5 stars Color Theory for Beaders   May 16, 2007

I found The Beaders Guide To Color by Margie Deeb an excellent bookon the theory of color and why some colors work better than others. It is liberally illustrated with samples of beading and the diagrams of suggested palettes. The text on harmony and values of color are very clear. I particularly liked the section on the emotional and symbolic meaning of color, which I have not seen so clearly described . This is a great book to enhance any of the users art work, as well as beading

5 out of 5 stars This goes with That goes with This................   January 8, 2007

Not everyone is blessed with the ability to put colours together, you only have to walk down the street to see that!, If you are not sure, then this is the book for you. All the base colour combinations are shown clearly, i.e. how to choose a Triad, Complementary, Natural hues etc they are all covered with a multitude of others and will be invaluable as a resource. I especially liked the list of Delicas including their number with the projects to assist you. I can't say I would do the vast majority of projects as my personal style is more organic and freeform, but I still loved it as a resource tool. Great instructions, good quality photos, a welcome addition to your beading library.

5 out of 5 stars Best book ever   August 15, 2006

I was a little skeptical at first, but sometimes I get inspiration challanged. Sometimes my projects come out flat - one dimensional - so-so. After I read this book- it was eye opening. Just a little change and my projects had spark and edge. Now I fully understand how color interacts with the eye, with other colors, with the human brain.... awesome book and very worth it. The BEST book I ever got on beading.
