 I read this book from beginning to end... November 9, 2008
I really felt as if I was with the author as she travelled the Scottish Highlands. As an artist and writer myself, with a fondness for travel journals, I found this one an unadulterated delight.

Mairi follows the path of a 19th century artist who traveled through the highlands, sketching as he went. The book provides a very interesting comparison of the two century's perpectives on the highlands as well as enjoyable watercolor paintings of the highlands
