Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
With new and improved illustrations, the second edition of Shaping Interior Space
emphasizes the impact that designers make through their spatial compositions and
design manipulations. Intended for intermediate and advanced students focusing on
commercial design, the text covers strategies for creating interior environments that
work as a total system to enhance the experience of users. It places the emphasis on
design virtues other than function and beauty to more fully address the designer s
role in providing appropriate amounts of order, enrichment, and expression.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Must-have for commercial interior designers   May 3, 2006

This book provides a good conceptual approach to designing the layout and organization of commercial spaces. There are many diagrams and sketches illustrating the concepts of space, volume, flow, order, repetition, etc. The only thing is the photographs, while numerous, are just black and white. Helps keep the cost down though. Any student or new professional in interior design should get this book,
