| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description (Watercolor) Penny Soto's love of color led her to a rather unusual approach to painting. In this video workshop you will learn how she sketches and shades in the values on 300# paper - then, underpaints, overpaints, lifts and pushes color until she achieves the glowing, radiant, saturated color that she desires. You will learn how she balances her warm and cool temperatures, and applies her technique to painting cherries, a reflective, silver bowl and lace. You will see how Penny uses a computer to combine parts of two different pictures, create the composition and saturate color for her reference photo. Using Penny's approach you, too, can confidently tackle whatever subject you choose. Artist Profile: Penny Soto has had a lifelong love of color. During her time at the Academy of Art in San Francisco she discovered an unconventional style that she has been developing ever since. By underpainting, overpainting, lifting and scrubbing she is able to experiment with color and make her paintings come alive. Penny also designed a pallet she calls "Spin-A-Color" that gives her easy access to 84 colors at a glance. This allows Penny to experiment with the latest new hues. Penny just complete her new book, Paint Glowing Colors in Watercolor by North Light, which is now available. Penny lives in the foothills of the California Sierras with her husband, Paul and dog, Peaches (who you will meet in her video). She is an active instructor and illustrator.
