4 out of 5 stars What it says is what you get   March 18, 2008

The most frustrating aspect of most art books that give you projects to follow is the scarcity of illustrations, leaving you to wonder how the artist got from picture one to picture two and then to the finished item.
Not so with this book, very well illustrated it takes you step by step from start to finish, it is the next best thing to having the artist at your elbow.
The Saturday exercises are fun and, most important for the budding artist, they produce work you would not be ashamed to show your family.
Better still the Sunday painting produce works you should not be embarrassed to show your friends
If you are starting in watercolors and you only purchase one book on the subject this has to be it.
