Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Bloomington is revealed vividly through over 100 watercolor paintings in this sketchbook. Native writer Douglas S. Wissing chronicles Bloomington's colorful history and diverse contemporary life deftly and artfully. Strangers to the city and natives alike will enjoy the rich fabric from which this city was woven. Through their paintings, local artists illustrate why this city is so special and also shows clearly the diverse appeal that the city provides and extends generously to all who enter.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Charming combination of text and watercolors   November 23, 2008
I have lived in Bloomington, Indiana, for 35 years so I appreciate this book. Doug Wissing has done the town justice with this account. I ran across Bloomington Sketchbook in a local dermatologist's office and knew I had to have a copy. Doug used to run a printing business next to my husband's former place of business. I had no idea Doug was an author until I discovered and read his book Pioneer in Tibet. You almost need to be a Bloomington resident to fully appreciate Sketchbook, but if you love history and adventure, you will appreciate Pioneer in Tibet. Jean Rhoads
